The "Sound Detectives" Padlet and our superpower!

In this activity, we collect drawings from children (one per class) on the theme:    if your pet had a superpower, what would it be... Then record a characteristic sound made by the animal.   Send the drawing and audio file to  ftsirli@gmail.com  with your details and then  you can see the result on this link:  https://canvastera.com/s/CqGQnJhTE

Digital Animal Puppets

To make the "Interview with an Animal" more engaging, let the kids  become  the animal on screen while they speak.   https://docs.google.com/document/d/1iIH0DWYJa8tb94mTSZkLn-DS5ucS8SEBVUeRLx9EP7E/edit?usp=sharing     App: ChatterPix Kids . You take a photo of an animal, draw a line for the mouth, and record up to 30 seconds of audio.  The animal "talks" back!   Why it works:  It removes the "stage fright" of being on camera and makes the "Interview" incredibly fun to watch.

The "Detective's Map" (Interactive Geography)

Children color a paper animal (e.g., a Caretta-Caretta turtle). You take a photo of it. Using a tablet, the child "pins" their animal's photo onto a digital map.   App:Canva . Upload a base image (the world map) and let kids tap to add "hotspots" containing their drawings.    It turns abstract geography into a game of "where does my friend live?"   https://www.canva.com/design/DAHAKrT9pQE/SFKupUq4T1uS0DCQwqv3Iw/edit?utm_content=DAHAKrT9pQE&utm_campaign=designshare&utm_medium=link2&utm_source=sharebutton

Animal racegame

Students play online games with partner schools  I In 11.3 once you coordinate with the group you will be playing with, you will set a time and all join a Webex meeting (you will decide whose Webex account to use). Whoever is the host of the Webex will share their screen with the game open—just as we do when presenting documents—so that all the children can play at the same time. If two or four classes are playing, they will take turns rolling the dice and moving their token. Essentially, one child will use the computer, or all the children can take turns, and it’s best if the game is displayed on a television so that everyone can follow along.  11.3 once you coordinate with the group you will be  Animal race game   📅  Add your class to the 11.3 Race Games schedule
